We went on a road trip!

Back in June we drove across Nebraska to Iowa for JD and Amanda Whitaker's wedding. It was a beast of a drive too! No ac in a car driving across the Great Plains is kind of the worst. But not awful if you have good company.

On the way to Iowa we didn't make any stops, but on the way back since we weren't in a rush we stopped in Shelton, Nebraska, to check out the church where Joshua's dad served for a year.

We were driving in the middle of nowhere Nebraska on our way to the church, and all of a sudden the paved road with a speed limit of 60 turned into a dirt road! It was kind of hilarious and unexpected! We were definitely in the middle of nowhere. Since we were so in the middle of nowhere, we stopped for a picture. The self timer on the hood of the car helped a lot!

Once we'd taken pictures we headed on to the church. It was beautiful! It was just like you'd imagine an old, prairie, farming community church would look like. It had a steeple and was painted white. It was adorable! I'm so glad we got to make that little de-tour. It was so worth it, because we probably won't make it back to that part of Nebraska again.

 Self timer on the car!

 Self timer on my shoes.
The door was unlocked so we peaked inside and signed the guest book. And! Inside was a postcard about Ma and Pa's work in Ghana!
